Los New York Mets (Metropolitanos de Nueva York) son un equipo de las Grandes Ligas de Béisbol basado en Flushing, Queens Nueva York. Forman parte de la división este de la Liga Nacional. Fundación:1962 (expansión de la Liga Nacional) Estadio actual:Estadio Shea (desde 1964) Uniforme:Azul, naranja y negro (el naranja conmemora los antiguos Gigantes de Nueva York, el azul conmemora los Dodgers de Brooklyn). Logo:Letras 'N' y 'Y' entremezcladas, sobre un fondo azul (el logo NY es idéntico al de los Gigantes de Nueva York, el fondo azul fue escogido porque era el color de los Dodgers de Brooklyn). El logo fue diseñado por el historietista Ray Gatto. La forma de la insignia, cosida en naranja representa una pelota de béisbol, y contiene un puente que representa la unión de los tres municipios (boroughs) de Nueva York.
